CONTEST OVERVIEW
Platinum Guild International and Couture invite you to join in the 2nd annual Platinum Couture Style Challenge 2009. Once again, PGI and Couture have teamed up to bring a unique platinum jewelry design contest exclusively for the designers and manufacturers exhibiting at Couture.
The contest will be held at the Couture Show, the premier luxury event in Las Vegas on May 28th - June 2nd, 2009. Judges for the contest will consist of a panel of jewelry editors and PGI representatives. Category winners will be announced at the show on Sunday, May 31st and will be awarded an official Platinum Couture Style Challenge trophy and will receive a variety of valuable trade and consumer publicity benefits from PGI throughout 2009.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT
All Couture exhibitors producing platinum are eligible and must abide by the following regulations:
Entries must be comprised of a minimum of 90% platinum (not including gemstones) and must be executed in platinum. Platinum must be used according to ISO standards. Entries must be placed in the window of each contestant's salon by end of set-up day, Wednesday, May 27th accompanied by the provided PGI contest display piece. The display piece will identify your entry in the Platinum Couture Style Challenge, indicating your category and serving as a marker for the judges. Please note if you enter into more than one category, there will be designated signage for each piece. This will make it easily identifiable for judges.
Product must be on display in your salon window for the duration of the Couture show, May 28th - June 2nd, 2009.
JUDGING
The contest will be judged by editors from the nation's top fashion publications, industry trade editors and PGI representatives. Judging will be based upon originality, creativity, wearability and best interpretation of the theme. Judging will take place the first three days of Couture with winners being announced and awarded the official Platinum Couture Style Challenge trophies on Sunday, May 31st.
PROMOTION
Winners in each of the five categories will receive a valuable promotion package from PGI where the winning piece will be publicized to both consumer and trade editors and will become the focus of at least 2 of Platinum Guild International's consumer programs for the duration of the year (provided product availability to PGI). A post-competition press release will also be issued to media announcing the winners in each category. Each of the five winners must provide a high-resolution (300dpi) of the winning product to PGI by Friday, June 26th, 2009. If you do not have one, please supply the product to PGI and we will coordinate to have it professionally photographed at our expense. |
