Platinum jewelry ruled the red carpet this award show season with celebrities dazzling in platinum at the Golden Globes, Academy Awards, Grammy Awards and the most exclusive after-parties that followed in Los Angeles. 

Its no surprise that bling was absent from the red carpet this year as the economy has even taken a toll on fashion.  Instead, celebrities drew inspiration from the timeless Hollywood icons of the 1930's depression era to bring a unique combination of understated elegance to the red carpet.  The hottest styles were classic vintage and art deco platinum pieces that are as sophisticated today as they will be tomorrow.  Glamorous but understated dresses and classic tuxedos completed the red carpet look.

One constant however was platinum.  Platinum's enduring value and appeal has made it a fixture on today's most stylish and sophisticated celebrities.  Trends will come and go, but platinum remains as desirable as ever.
