Platinum Guild International Hosts Its Annual Emmy Awards Red Carpet Platinum Jewelry Preview

Los Angeles, Calif. (September 4, 2008) - In August, all eyes were focused on the world's top athletes vying for bronze, silver and gold Olympic medals. September marks the start of another rivalry - the annual competition for "Best Dressed" on the Primetime Emmy Awards' red carpet. The stakes are higher in this competition, as the only winning medal metal is Platinum, the most rare and desired of all precious metals.

On September 18-20, 2008, Platinum Guild International (PGI-USA) will assist top celebrities and stylists as they prepare designer looks for the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which airs Sunday, September 21. The Platinum Guild International Red Carpet Jewelry Preview allows celebrities and their stylists to select unique, exclusive and never-before-seen Platinum jewelry from a wide variety of American jewelry designers and international world-class jewelry brands.
This year's preview will showcase more than $40 million worth of women's and men's Platinum jewelry and watches from more than 30 of the world's top jewelers including Neil Lane, Erica Courtney, Piaget, Ganjam, Franck Muller, and Siegelson.

One celebrity will also have the opportunity to borrow the never-before-seen "Platinum Clutch," collaboration between Cate Adair, an Emmy-nominated and award-winning costume designer and Kwiat, the fine jewelry designer and manufacturer that has been creating the finest diamonds and jewelry for over 100 years.

The one-of-a-kind platinum-colored leather clutch, valued at over $500,000, features genuine pure Platinum design elements set with 60 carats of Kwiat diamonds, in honor of the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Adair, who is nominated for the "Outstanding Costumes for a Series" Emmy Award for her work on Desperate Housewives, launched the Cate Adair Collection of handbags in 2006. Her designs have become a staple among Hollywood's top stars and are sold in high-end stores.

While the Platinum jewelry from PGI-USA's Preview will make celebrities' outfits shine on the red carpet, the precious metal will also play a role in making their faces the most beautiful possible.   Luxury Swiss skincare and beauty house, La Prairie, will debut its Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, the most advanced and expensive facial cream (retail $1,000 for 1.7 ounce  jar), that harnesses the power of Platinum, at the Preview. Guests will be the first to experience the "Platinum Rare Facial" and will also have the opportunity to receive massages and luxury make-up applications. Each attendee will receive an exclusive La Prairie gift bag containing a travel size of Cellular Cream Platinum Rare and a special 5-product eye color collection, including brush set, from the brand's luxury cosmetics.

Guests will also be given a Platinum gift bag with items from companies including Aldo, Auric Blends, Crest, Dr. Tattoff, Frederick's of Hollywood, Marquis Platinum Vitality Drink, Sunlounge Studios, Thank Dog! Boot Camp, Tide, Tucker, and Xtended Beauty.

Additionally, celebrities who attend PGI-USA's Emmy Awards Red Carpet Platinum Jewelry Preview will have the opportunity to sign limited-edition "Platinum" iPods that will be donated to Clothes Off Our Back's auctions to support children's charities. Celebrities who have participated in the auction include: Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, B.J. Novak (The Office), Leslie David Baker (The Office), Brian Baumgartner (The Office), Creed Bratton (The Office), Kate Flannery (The Office), Melora Hardin (The Office), Angela Kinsey (The Office), Oscar Nunez (The Office), Paul Lieberstein (The Office), Phyllis Smith (The Office), Rex Lee (Entourage), Perrey Reeves (Entourage), Terry O'Quinn (Lost), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle), Stockard Channing, Mario Lopez, David Boreanaz, Cheryl Hines, and Debra Messing.
