The JCK Las Vegas 2008 event saw a number of platinum pieces being displayed.

Jewelers Circular Keystone reports that there were 35 exhibitors displaying their precious white metal pieces at the Platinum Guild International's Platinum Pavilion.

Also at the event was a product showcase featuring baubles worth $5,000 and under, including fashion and bridal designs.

Brands on display included Infinity Line, Tenthio, Catherine Iskiw, Shrenuj, FJIL Inc, Diana Classic, Martin Flyer, PlatMx and Timeless Designs.

This year's JCK event was the 17th to be hosted by the organization and was attended by representatives from 72 nations.

"Although retailers and exhibitors are challenged by the current economic state, the show provided an efficient and effective way to do business [and] network and learn from the industry's thought leaders," said Dave Bonaparte, group vice-president of JCK Events.

Other special exhibitions at the show included a performance by the face of Stephen Webster's jewelry collection, Christina Aguilera and the unveiling of Badgley and Mischka's new bridal range.
