Q: What do the terms ductility and malleability mean?

A: Ductility is the ability of a metal to be elongated, as in making wire and drawing.  Malleability is the ability of a metal to be forged, bent, formed, and thinned by rolling. Platinum is a very ductile and malleable metal.
