- In October, Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) hosted a select group of leading jewelry retailers and manufacturers on a "Platinum Experience" trip to South Africa. The group embarked on a ten day journey across the globe to learn, share and experience the source of all things Platinum. The trip enabled everyone in the group to not only learn and educate themselves on Platinum but to also develop deeper relationships with one another and create a bond that will truly last a lifetime!
Included in the Platinum adventure was an educational visit to the Anglo Platinum mine which showed them first hand the intensive labor that goes into Platinum's production and mining that gives Platinum it's rarity of the world's most precious metal. They also enjoyed a cultural experience at a South African winery where all were able to indulge in another important South African export and even had a rare chance to watch the South African Rugby Team take home the world championship! To truly embrace the South African culture PGI took their guests to a luxurious game reserve where they experienced a South African Safari, including a "Boma Dinner" - a South African barbeque complete with a roaring fire and African singers.
