PGI-USA Hosts Its Annual Red Carpet Platinum Jewelry Preview To Coincide With The 2007 Golden Globe Awards

Los Angeles (October 2006) - With a new year upon us, 2007 begins with a bang as January marks the start of award show season. Platinum Guild International (PGI-USA) once again returns to Hollywood to host its exclusive Golden Globes Red Carpet Jewelry Preview. This year's Red Carpet Jewelry Preview will be held January 11th through the 13th.

PGI-USA's Red Carpet Jewelry Previews are a Hollywood hot spot for A-list celebrities and stylists'. PGI-USA provides celebrities the opportunity to select from a plethora of Platinum jewelry from over 30 top designers. In past events jewelry has been showcased from top designers such as:

Michael O'Connor, Senior Vice President of PGI-USA says, "PGI-USA Red Carpet Jewelry Previews are a great tool for manufacturers to have their designs exposed to a variety of media outlets such as broadcast, print, and online. As well as helping garner media attention for designers, the Jewelry Previews achieve exposure with celebrities, stylists, and fashion influencers within the Hollywood community. Additionally, the potential for having their brand worn by a celebrity and mentioned on the Red Carpet can help drive consumer recognition and desire for their products in a way that creates a celebrity endorsement halo."

PGI-USA's Red Carpet Jewelry Previews have been responsible for dressing over 250 celebrities in Platinum jewelry for prestigious award shows. In doing so, participating manufacturers have taken advantage of over half a billion media impressions - worth more than six million dollars in advertising value. Specific media channels and publications that have featured jewelry from PGI-USA's Jewelry Preview have been:

Through its Jewelry Preview, PGI-USA continues to build on its strong relationship with the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation (COOB). COOB is Hollywood's most popular charity, as over 450 celebrities have donated clothes off their back to raise more than one million dollars in support of various children's charities.

PGI-USA hosts Red Carpet Jewelry Previews for the Golden Globes, Academy Awards and Emmy Awards. Through these events PGI-USA has generated thousands of dollars for COOB, using celebrity autographed Platinum-related items for the foundations' online auctions.

Among the highlights for the 2006 Emmy donations to COOB was a Platinum-engraved iPod Nano signed by Debra Messing (Will & Grace). In other past events, PGI-USA has contributed celebrity autographed limited edition Essie Platinum "I Do" nail polish, Platinum threaded jeans by Gekko, as well as several celebrity gift bags from their exclusive Jewelry Previews.

"I am very happy with the great relationship Clothes Off Our Back has developed with PGI-USA. They've made a continuous effort to support our organization each time they've had a presence in Hollywood, and I am looking forward to a future of continued partnerships," said Jane Kaczmarek, founder of COOB, Emmy-nominated star of "Malcolm In The Middle", and "Help Me, Help You."

Platinum is prized for its Pure, Rare and Eternal qualities:

PURE: Platinum's high level of purity (generally 90%-95% pure) endows it with both a natural white luster, allowing the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine; and hypoallergenic qualities that prove ideal for sensitive skin.

Only the purest platinum jewelry will bear a stamp reading "PLATINUM", "PLAT", "Pt
950", or "Pt 900", signifying the jewelry is 90% to 95% pure platinum.

RARE: Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold.

ETERNAL:  Platinum will hold a diamond or gemstone securely, now and for always.
