Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) partnered with the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation for their annual Hollywood Awards Show charity, rolling auction. The auction generated over $150,000 in proceeds. Proceeds from the auction will support several children's charities.
Given PGI-USA's strong connection to celebrities during the award show seasons-Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and Academy Awards-the partnership was a natural fit.
"It has been a pleasure for Clothes Off Our Back to continue our partnership with PGI. Their events and custom Platinum products provide our bidders from around the globe an opportunity to obtain precious Platinum items that would not otherwise be available to them while helping to raise funds for children's charities," said Michel Schneider, Executive Director of Clothes Off Our Back Foundation. "PGI has become a destination spot in Hollywood for the awards shows. Given the timing of our events, the partnership was a very synergistic one."
The auction, which ran through March 31st, benefit the following children's charities:
. UNICEF'S work in the Sudan-Founded in 1946, UNICEF helps save, protect, and improve the lives of children around the world through immunization, education, health care, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation. . Platinum is prized for its Pure, Rare and Eternal qualities:
Platinum's high level of purity (generally 90%-95% pure) endows it with both a natural white luster, allowing the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine; and hypoallergenic qualities that prove ideal for sensitive skin.
Only the purest platinum jewelry will bear a stamp reading "PLATINUM", "PLAT", "Pt 950", or "Pt 900", signifying the jewelry is 90% to 95% pure platinum.
Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold.
Platinum will hold a diamond or gemstone securely, now and for always.
