Platinum Guild International Creates Cosmic Match

New York, NY (Jully 2005) -
Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) used a creative way to connect its Platinum advertising partner's bridal designs with consumers through the Cosmic Match Contest on the promotion area of Cosmopolitan Magazine's well known website, cosmopolitan.com. To illustrate the desired characteristics of precious Platinum to the cosmopolitan woman, Platinum engagement rings from Memoire, Whitney Boin, Peter Storm, Michael Bondanza, Saturn Jewels, Judith Conway, Hearts on Fire, Ritani, Novell, Verragio, Precision Set, and Lieberfarb were cleverly paired with an astrological sign and a fun description that linked with the sign's personality traits and style of the designer.

The promotion integrated the powerful phenomenon of Cosmopolitan's largely popular Bedside Astrologer editorial feature with the unique Platinum engagement ring designs, and drove a significant amount of traffic to each designer's individual website.  "Cosmic Match created a fun way for the budding future bride to dream about her engagement ring", said Geri Bondanza of Michael Bondanza, "and we were so excited to be a part of it".

Cosmopolitan.com receives one million hits and 14 million page views monthly, which ensured the success of the promotion.  Michelle Peranteau, Marketing Communications Manager at PGI-USA said, "PGI is thrilled to continue our partnership with Cosmopolitan, a magazine widely read by our target audience, and bring the Platinum experience to life in a creative way for a significant number of consumers."

The Cosmic Match Contest was promoted in the May issue of Cosmopolitan, and was live on the web May 10, 2005 through June 6, 2005.  Readers were asked to write an essay telling about their personal cosmic love match in fifty words or less.
Four lucky winners, Britney Sizemore, Paula Saulnier, Whitney Carter, and Kathleen Lorson received a set of 10 CDs of artists whose albums have gone platinum.  The contest received more than 4500 entries, and more than 650 entrants opted in to receive a Men's Guide to Engagement and Wedding Band booklets by PGI.

Platinum is prized for its Pure, Rare, Eternal qualities:

PURE: Platinum's high level of purity (generally 90%-95% pure) endows it with both a natural white luster, allowing the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine; and hypoallergenic qualities that prove ideal for sensitive skin.

RARE: Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold.

ETERNAL:  Platinum will hold a diamond or gemstone securely, now and for always.
