Platinum Rules the Red Carpet at the 77th Annual Academy Awards

Los Angeles, CA (February 27, 2005) - Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) is pleased to announce another successful Awards show as a result of our latest Red Carpet Platinum Jewelry Exclusive suite for stylists and celebrities to coincide with the 77th Annual Academy Awards. The Platinum baubles to land on the red carpet ranged from fabulous Platinum and diamond brooches and ultra-long and linear platinum drop earrings, to sleek cufflinks and shirt studs. The Academy Awards epitomized the "white wave" trend as precious Platinum jewelry ruled the red carpet on Hollywood's hottest men and women.

Working directly with the celebrities, through their stylists and via the designers themselves, PGI-USA provided the best known names in the film industry including Kate Winslet, Laura Linney, Jamie Foxx, and Leonardo DiCaprio with the world's most precious metal, brought to life in an array of stunning designs by talented Platinum jewelry designers. Celebrity stylists personally selected from the latest one-of-a-kind jewelry at Platinum Guild International's Oscar Jewelry Preview. Jewelry and fashion expert Michael O'Connor, Senior Vice President PGI-USA, was on-hand to work with attendees to help create the perfect Platinum fashion statement.

O'Connor notes, "Aside from its durability and rarity, celebrities love Platinum because it's a naturally white metal, so it brings out the sparkle in diamonds, gem stones, and colorful ensembles. Even if you're watching the show from home, you can't help but notice that Platinum jewelry adds glamour and sophistication to any red carpet outfit."
