Platinum Guild International USA (PGI) And Glamour Magazine Partner With Retailers to Throw Exclusive Platinum Parties For Three Lucky Contest Winners

New York, NY (November 2004) - For three lucky ladies, joined by their closest friends, each night began escorted in a super-stretch limo to a private soiree at a Platinum jewelry retailer for a fun-filled night of food, drink and Platinum jewelry.  Who were these three lucky ladies?  They were the winners of a Come Play with Platinum Party, sponsored by PGI and Glamour magazine, from a write-in contest on the "do's and don'ts" of a great wedding proposal. The three winners included Erin Finley who attended the private Platinum soirée at A. Rixom & Company, a division of Union Diamond Corporation, in Atlanta, Georgia; Kimberly Bowers who attended the Robbins Bros. event in San Diego, California and Tara Williamson who joined her friends at Bachendorf's in Texas.

The agenda for each night included tasty hors d'oeuvres and cocktails;Q & A games about the winner; and exclusive, Platinum jewelry presentations by Ritani (at Robbins Bros.), Natalie K ( at A. Rixom) and Céde (at Bachendorf's) in addition to the variety of other Platinum jewelry brands offered at each retailer.  Much like the 76 percent of recently surveyed women who want Platinum for their engagement rings above all other precious metals*, the nights' attendees expressed their preference for Platinum as their precious metal of choice for bridal jewelry.  Attendees filled out Platinum holiday wish lists and took pictures with their favorite piece of Platinum jewelry to share with their significant others and/or friends in hopes of receiving their dream gift.

The parties not only generated great exposure and local buzz for each of the three gracious Platinum jewelry retailers who hosted parties, they also helped to build future business opportunities.  Atlanta's local jewelry house, A. Rixom & Company, sold $3,000
in Platinum jewelry from the party alone, including a Platinum, diamond and sapphire ring. A. Rixom also surprised Finley when they offered to lend Platinum bridal jewelry for her upcoming nuptials.

"This was a very successful event! We achieved everything that we set out to do... Instill our guests with Platinum's pure, rare and eternal values, create customers for A. Rixom & Company and keep them reading their Glamour magazines," said Barbara Palumbo, Director of Sales for A. Rixom & Company. "I absolutely believe that many of the young guests, who were still in the early stages of looking at engagement rings, left convinced that Platinum was the precious metal of choice for their bridal jewelry."

Platinum is prized for its Pure, Rare and Eternal qualities:

PURE:  Platinum's purity endows it with a natural white luster, which allows the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine.

RARE:  Platinum is 30 times rarer than gold.
