Celebrity Stylists Choose Platinum Jewelry to Create Winning Looks for 56th Annual Emmy Awards

Los Angeles (September 10, 2004) -
It was an oasis of Platinum jewelry with vibrant multi-colored gemstones to fit this season's top Red-Carpet looks. Platinum Guild International USA hosted an exclusive jewelry suite for celebrity stylists to coincide with the 56th Annual Emmy Awards. Stylists who attended were able to pick from a wide selection of Red-Carpet Platinum jewelry from 38 Platinum jewelry designers and manufactures including Neil Lane, Stephen Russell, Marc Lazar, Tanagro, Sheila Goldfinger, Erica Courtney, Cathy Carmendy, Peter Norman & Co., Kwiat and Elara.

Top choices by over 20 stylists included Platinum jewelry with large, bold multi-colored gemstones. Whatever the look, Platinum remains the white precious metal of choice for many designers and stylists because of its pure, rare and eternal qualities. Designers choose Platinum because its naturally white luster means that no other colors will be cast into the gemstone allowing it to shine in its own true radiance. Stylists prefer Platinum jewelry as the perfect compliment to any texture or color fabric.

"We are very pleased that celebrity stylists took such a great interest in this event and that they have come to view PGI as an important resource for their foremost Platinum jewelry needs. Our strong partnerships with Platinum jewelry designers and manufacturers gives stylists the opportunity to accommodate their clients varying looks," said Michael O'Connor Senior Vice President, Communications and Trade Relations. "We are also very pleased that the stylists have also come to learn to appreciate the unique characteristics of Platinum that makes it perfect for fine quality jewelry," he added.

A handmade Platinum ring with a shank of micro-pave diamonds centered with a magnificent 8.36-carat fancy blue pear-shaped diamond valued over $2,000,000 by Mark Lazar were among the show stopping pieces available to the stylists. Other noteworthy pieces included an elegant, ornately designed handmade Platinum pendant with a 107-carat black Russian diamond suspended from a Platinum and diamond necklace, as well as a swanky, long Platinum chain garnished with 312 multi-colored diamonds by Tanagro.

Fancy Platinum drop earrings with a wide selection of gemstones in brilliant hues of pink, green, blue, yellow and white were also popular choices. They included Platinum and green beryl "Beluga" drop earrings by Cathy Carmendy, Platinum and Citrine "Leaf over" earrings by Erica Courtney, Platinum and pink sapphire "Cornice" dangle earrings by Tanagro and Vintage Platinum and diamond dangle earrings by Sheila Goldfinger.  Neil Lane revealed a gorgeous, never before seen pair of Platinum and diamond drop earrings. Bracelets included a stunning Platinum and diamond Art-Deco bracelet by Stephen Russell, a very impressive Platinum bracelet hosting 47.24-carats of radiant diamonds and a very smooth Platinum and diamond double loop bangle bracelet by Etienne Perret.

Men's choices included a pair a Platinum and asscher cut diamond cufflinks by Daniel K, Platinum, onyx and diamond cufflinks by Neil Lane, Platinum and crocodile skin watches by A. Lange & Söhne and Platinum, sapphire and multi-color leather watches by Bunz.

PURE:  Platinum's purity endows it with a natural white luster, which allows the true radiance of a diamond or gemstone to shine.

RARE:  Platinum is 30 times rarer than gold.

ETERNAL:  Platinum will hold a diamond or gemstone securely, now and for always.
