Today, the Mace is best associated with the authority of Ontario's Speaker of the House and represents the richness of Canada's parliamentary tradition.

Of choosing Platinum, Ahluwalia stated, "I wanted to ensure that the metal I chose was perennial, one that could retain its beauty and complemented the long history of the Mace. Ontario's Mace was created in 1867 and it will remain in service for generations to come. Rarity, purity and brilliant white luster of platinum was perfect choice for these flawless diamonds."
