A leading online jewelry retailer which sells a range of platinum goods has reported that it experienced a surge in sales before Christmas.
US-based online store JRDunn.com, whose range includes a marquise and round diamond platinum eternity band worth nearly $26,000, has stated that it had a 61 per cent increase in shipped orders in December.
As well as strong sales in its platinum jewelry, the company reported an increase in demand for loose diamonds.
Speaking about the growth, JR Dunn.com founder Sean Dunn said: "As a whole, our company has not lost how important the diamond and bridal business is for jewelers.
"There are a lot of brick and mortar stores out there that are giving up on the engagement ring business due to fierce competition. We refuse to go down that route."
JRDunn.com was established in 1969 and sells a variety of jewelry products, including rings, earrings and pendants for a range of prices.
