Platinum jewels will be among the items on display at Melbourne's next Winter Masterpieces exhibition.
Paying tribute to the elegance and workmanship of the Art Deco movement from 1910 to 1939, the show is to be held at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) next June, reports the Herald Sun.
It will feature pictures, sculpture, fashion and jewelry among other things, with many of the stunning displays on loan from the Victoria and Albert museum in London.
Equally, the Cartier Foundation in Geneva is set to provide the stars of the show with jewels including diamond, sapphire and platinum brooches from 1922.
These items are of particular note as they were directly inspired by the fascinating discovery and unveiling of King Tutankhamen's tomb in Egypt.
NGV director, Dr Gerard Vaughan commented: "We have private collectors from around Australia lending us things, but particularly from Melbourne.
"Who knows, the exhibition might even get a bit bigger once people know we are looking."
