One-Off Platinum Watch Sold In Monaco Auction

A stunning platinum watch has recently been sold at a charity auction for thousands of dollars, it has emerged.

Taking place last week, the fundraising event in Monaco saw some 35 dazzling one-off timepieces go under the hammer in aid of Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, reports JCK Online.

However, sure to be standing out among the various majestic pieces was the Malte Tourbillon Platinum watch designed by Vacheron Constantin.

A gentleman's platinum tourbillon regulator, the astounding watch also features a carriage bridge crafted out of platinum - a first for the manufacturer.

And with the dial, buckle, case and strap stitching also made from platinum, the lucky person who got their hands on the jaw-dropping item is sure to be turning heads as it sold for some $182,910.

Over 300 people were revealed to have attended the event, including Formula One star Felipe Massa and designer Philippe Starck, in addition to various telephone and internet bidders.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that IWC Schaffhausen is to produce a one-off platinum watch as it pays homage to the Courrier Sud novel written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
