Platinum jewelry is becoming increasingly popular, according to an industry expert.

According to Amanda Gizi, spokesperson for the Jewelry Information Center, platinum is an evermore attractive choice of metal for jewelry, reports BloggingStocks.

Ms Gizi added that bridal pieces, for instance platinum engagement rings, are proving especially popular.

She also told the publication that "fancies" gemstones in colors away from their traditional appearance - such as blue diamonds and pink sapphires - are also proving fashionable.
