Platinum jewelry enthusiasts in Germany, Japan and the UK can now browse the impressive items sold by Amazon, after a major expansion of retail operations.
By visiting Amazon.de, Amazon.jp and Amazon.co.uk, lovers of platinum jewelry will now have access to the increasingly impressive gems sold by the world-famous retailer.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer our international customers the opportunity to purchase jewelry and watches online," said Peter Lai, director in charge of jewelry and watches with Amazon.
"Customers love Amazon's outstanding selection and low prices, and we know our customers in the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan will too," he added.
From the UK website, jewelry aficionados can buy items including a platinum 30-inch trace chain, available for £13,663 ($27,604). The UK site is also selling platinum and diamond rings for up to £3,000 ($6,000) and platinum earrings for £250 ($500).
The expansion into these new markets follows a period of remarkable growth for Amazon, with jewelry sales soaring as more and more people acquaint themselves with the nuances of online retail.
America remains Amazon's biggest market, however, and this is reflected in the quality of the jewelry currently on sale.
Those browsing the US site will find stunning items including earrings from the Great American Jewelry Company, in diamond, titanium and platinum. These breathtaking earrings are selling for around $56,000 - only marginally more expensive than the platinum tennis bracelet from Katarina Jewelry at $52,000.
Other brands sold by Amazon include Miss Sixty, Crislu and Sajen, Tag Heuer and Omega, as well as Movado, Cartier and Nautica.
